I do love a wedding. All that love and potential all wrapped up in one special, wonderful day. My partner, friends and I (and anyone else we can persuade to join in!) quite often hold a sweepstake for a number of all things wedding. For a pound you can enter to guess in each category…Hair up, hair down, veil, no veil, tiara, fascinator, train, no train, white, ivory, coloured, neckline, length of speeches, how many times the father of the bride says the word ‘proud’, first word of the best man’s speech etc. etc. all in the name of fun, of meeting new friends and keep the party going while the photos are being taken… But what I like most about the wedding however, with the love and joy and excitement, the dance offs and the beautiful smell of the flowers (and a glass or two of something that bubbles…) is the wedding jewellery.

I love it!

Will it be pearls or crystals? Will there be a little secret blue accent in there? Which piece is a borrowed heirloom; bought especially for the wedding or a secret gift from groom to bride, bride to bride or parent to bride? What is it made from and can I make that? I often fantasise about how I can make the perfect slides, jewellery and tiaras and over the next few months, I will be experimenting and developing these ideas, ready for next wedding season. Roll on freedom of movement, the end to lock-down and the ability to finally go to a damned good wedding!
