My Story

For me it is never just about the jewellery and that feeling when you try on that perfect piece…. It is about the shared memories and experiences between us, that jewellery creates.

My lovely Mum and me, Buckingham Palace.

My lovely Mum and me, Buckingham Palace.

My love affair with all things sparkly began as a child. It has been in my blood since the first time my mother pulled out her jewellery box onto her bed, to let me try on her jewellery and even more specially, my grandmother's and great grandmother's jewellery too. I thought the stories she told about who they belonged to and where or when they received them were magical. Those antique and vintage designs, the cut of the stones and the feel of the metal as it slides over my finger or around my wrist or neck, still fills me with as much awe now as it did then.

Even though I am all (almost) grown up and now live in Llangollen, North Wales, I still sit with my mum on the bed from time to time, both of us trying on all her jewellery, talking about those magical pieces from generations past and we still bond and remember the special times we have shared.

So I only went and learned how to make my own………
oh dear….!!

After a number of courses, jobs in jewellers, having children, gaining a teaching degree, moving home, moving out again, setting up a life and a career, I have decided I am still too obsessed with the need to create, draw, melt and shape. I have often flitted from one craft to another, but the joy of working with metals fills my life with light and excitement. I cannot explain the feeling of achievement after the final polish of each finished piece of jewellery; the proudly taking photographs to edit and upload, or show my friends and family. Not to mention the reactions from people when they try them on and want to buy them. It never gets old.

After 15 years of making jewellery, I have decided it is finally time to make this official. With the help of some special friends who needed wedding rings and my family, I decided to go pro!! My ‘brother-in-law’ bought my registration for the Birmingham Assay Office and my amazing partner Pip bought me my own hallmark stamp, so I can finally sell my silver and gold jewellery after all these years. No more making for just me or giving rings to my mum.

This is really it, my shop is open and I’m not terrified at all...?!!
